Minister Jurečka at the 11th annual year of the National Week of Marriage

The 11th annual year of the National Week of Marriage, which will hosted by the Minister of Agriculture and Congressman for KDU-ČSL Ing. Milán Jurečka, will be opened by the Press Conference on the 13th of February 2017 from 10:00 a.m. in the House of Commans, room 24, in Sněmovní ulice č. 4, Praha 1.

Not only Minister Jurečka promised his speech at the Press Conference, but also Michaela Šojdrová – Member of the European parlament, František Radkovský – emeritus Bishop of the Roman Catholic Church, Helena Klímova – family counselor and therapist, Slavoj Brichcin – head of the department of sexology Prague Bohnice, Marie Nováková – lecturer and family counselor, Jiřina Prekopová – psychologist, therapist and author, and Filip Sajler – the famous Czech chef.

Numerous creative ideas and experiences on how to create unique marriages will be shared by people within NTM at the events and on the premises of local communities, civic associations, churches, family and maternity centres, professionals and laymen. Their list in individual cities and regions can be found at www.tydenmanzelstvi.cz. Their goal is to offer an opportunity for all couples to do something meaningful for their relationship and to celebrate together the depth and purpose of marriage, despite the various problems that relate to every relationship.

In addition to the number of politicians, NTM also supported Prof. MUDr. Ivo Skalský. Along with his wife MUDR. Marie Skalská they summed up their “Recipe for Good Marriage“ for NTM. That is also the topic of this year’s National Week of Marriage. „Manželství je zásadní opěrný bod našeho života. Je to výzva stran tolerance, trpělivosti, umění komunikace, obětavosti. Odměnou je nepřenositelné souznění v tom, co je pro nás zásadní, bezpečí, hrdost, bezpodmínečná podpora a respekt i znásobení společných radostí a dělení společných starostí.“

The National Week of Marriage was created in 1996 in the United Kingdom and for the first time in 2007 it was held in the Czech Republic. The aim of the event is to strengthen marriages and to highlight the need to address the issue of relational skills as a prerequisite for good marriage, as well as to motivate the lay and professional public, media and public figures to support the importance of marriage at least once a year. In addition to the Czech Republic, other countries, such as Australia, Belgium, the Republic of Ireland, Hungary, Germany, the Netherlands, Romania, Slovakia, Northern Ireland, Switzerland, Poland and the USA, joined the initiative. NTM partners in the Czech Republic are the Network of Mother Centres, Family Supporting Society, Ethics Forum of the Czech Republic, Association of Spouses, Home Return Publishers, ACET, Czech-Moravian Association of Twin and Multiple Clubs, Association of Family Centers and other organisations. The Czech Evangelical Alliance and the Ecumenical Council of Churches also expressed their support.
