I would like to take this opportunity to personally invite you to the „HOPE FOR TODAY“ lecture series, which will take place in many places across Europe from 12 to 26 May 2023.
The central theme of the lectures will be the unshakable hope that a loving God offers to every person on this planet. Nothing in this world compares to the offer of eternal life in the sinless environment of God‘s kingdom. This gift of God‘s grace is available to anyone who truly desires it.
However, we live in an environment where there is overwhelmingly only a distorted idea of both the good heavenly Father and the key questions of the origin and meaning of human existence.
The Bible was given to us as God‘s love letter to man. And only in the Bible, can we get an unbiased picture of the true loving character of a merciful and righteous God. Indeed, God makes moral demands on us contained in the entire Ten Commandments. If we really strived to keep them, we would live in a society without a single crime. The good news is that it‘s never too late to start while we‘re alive! The Bible also contains many fascinating prophecies that strengthen our faith on an unshakable foundation. God, standing outside of space and time, gave us these prophecies out of love, so that we would not lose meaningful orientation in life, even in so-called difficult times. Many of these prophecies have already been fulfilled to the last letter, and many speak of our present and near future. Another good news remains that God‘s prophecy is never based on human ideologies or extremist attitudes.
God also honestly points out the origin of evil and the resulting injustice, disease and death. The best news, however, is that everyone who really wants to has God‘s solid way out. God‘s prophecies contained in both the Old and New Testaments inform us that between 1798 and 1844, a Christian movement will appear, which the Lord Jesus Christ called to carry the good news of the gospel to all nations before Jesus‘ return. All the biblical characteristics associated with this were fulfilled astonishingly during the emergence of the Advent movement, from which the Seventh-day Adventist Church was formed in 1863, operating today in almost all countries of the contemporary world and numbering nearly 22 million members.
Pastor Ted Wilson, who serves as the president of this worldwide church, will lead this series of lectures under the title Hope for Today in Prague‘s Bethany church on Brumlovka. The lectures will be in English with a translation into Czech. We will be very much looking forward to meeting you!
